Vivian Edith Barbee Bedgood

Greenville, SC - Vivian Edith Barbee Bedgood, 95, died Apr 28, 2016 at Magnolia Manor of Greenville, in Greenville, SC after a long illness. Her daughter was by her side. She was born Dec 9, 1920 in Savannah, Ga and lived in Savannah most of her life before moving to Charleston, SC and then Greenville, SC to be with her daughter.
Mrs. Bedgood was a graduate of Commercial High School, Class of 1939.
She had a 45 year career as a bookkeeper and payroll clerk with the Oldsmobile dealership in Savannah. Thirty eight of those years were with Fuller Oldsmobile. She retired in 1999 at age 79.
Mrs. Bedgood was a lifetime member of Calvary Baptist Temple in Savannah for over 80 years. She was a member of the Chapel Sunday School class and the Betty Boatwright Mission Group of WMU at Calvary. She loved her church and church family.
Mrs. Bedgood also was a member of the American Business Women’s Association for over 40 years. She had perfect attendance for 30 of those years. She was ‘Woman of the Year’ in 1982 and again in 1994. She held the office of Vice President twice and was the Hospitality Chairman for 20 years. She also held other various leadership and committee positions.
Mrs. Bedgood was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie A Barbee and Laura Johnson Barbee Bradshaw. Also, her husband of 44 years, Raymond J Bedgood and seven of her eight siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Cecile B Kennedy and her husband Larry W Kennedy, of Anderson, SC. Three grandchildren: Kimberly Kennedy Goss (Brian Goss) of Lebanon, Illinois, Larry W Kennedy, Jr of Greer, SC, and Jeffrey D Kennedy (Melissa Hobin Kennedy) of Piedmont, SC.
Five great grandchildren: Katelyn Weber, Matthew Goss, Ryleigh Goss, Ethan Kennedy and Austin Kennedy.
One sister: Evelyn Barbee Arnsdorff Tuten, of Savannah, and several nieces and nephews
Visitation is Friday, Apr 29, 2016 from 5-7pm at Fox and Weeks, Hodgson Chapel.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Fox and Weeks, Hodgson Chapel.
Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
